25 February - 30 June
Dr. Khashayar Naderehvandi, Prof. Mick Wilson and Dr. Kerry Guinan
Online course
In this course the student will engage with various modes of writing pertaining to artistic research and its connected fields. The course consists of text seminars; lectures; collaborative and individual writing exercises; and two workshops (on artistic research publishing and on publication production processes). Thematically it is oriented around questions of method, process, ethics and aesthetics, specifically considering aspects of authorship and relations between languages, texts and meaning–matter. There will be a focus on the role and possibilities of writing in relation to the student’s own research project and the different artistic field(s) and disciplines of the particpants.
All through the course the students will work on an individual writing project connected to their research. Through reading and discussing each other’s texts, the participants will train skills of peer reviewing such as close reading, note taking, and giving and receiving textual feedback. Course participants will be evaluated on their active participation in seminars and writing workshops; contribution during feedback sessions; and progress made on their individual writing project. The course is taught online, in English, and workshop based.
*The participants can chose to write their individual writing project in either in English or Swedish.
