Following on from the CAPIm series of seminars looking at the role of editorial practices and small-scale presses in artistic research, we have a special one-hour online event that explores the editorial process for The Handbook of Artistic Research Methods: Resonant Practices in development for release in 2027. Members of the editorial team comprising Irina Gheorghe, Iris van der Tuin, Maria Topolčanská, Vytautas Michelkevicius, Henk Slager and Mick Wilson will conduct man open editorial meeting on this new publishing project that seeks to present concrete examples of artistic research methods in a way that proposes not a simple transfer of method but a sharing of approaches as “resonant practices”.  The session is structured via a series of questions where members of the editorial team discuss:

  • why does this seem a timely project?

  • why the focus on contemporary art field, and what criteria for selecting and inviting?

  • what are the challenges and risks in a project like this?

This is an open meeting, and we hope that it may be of interest to both PhD researchers and other colleagues both independent researchers and those based on institutions.  This event realised in collaboration with the EARN Methods group (link: https://artresearch.network/working-groups/methodology/).
