About

This doctoral level Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme is hosted by Universidade Católica Portuguesa is an associated initiative of CAPIm with:

>   Faculty of Human Sciences and School of Arts, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisboa and Porto)
>   Doctoral School of Visual Arts, “George Enescu” National University of the Arts, Iași, Romania
>   Technological University Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
>   HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden
>   Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest, Hungary

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) creates a transnational space in which students, early-stage researchers, future arts leaders, educators, and cultural practitioners can critically engage with issues of organisational practices in the contemporary arts. It offers an experimental environment to explore alternative ways of organising cultural institutions and generating narratives grounded in inclusivity, plurality, and the distributed agency of diverse social actors. By combining online collaboration with an intensive in-person phase (one week in Lisboa and Porto), the BIP is conceived as a practical, co-creative laboratory. Participants work in interdisciplinary groups to exchange situated perspectives, challenge dominant assumptions, and collaboratively design strategies that reimagine institutional practices. In doing so, the programme seeks to contribute to more inclusive cultural futures and to strengthen the role of art institutions as agents of social transformation.
