Solastalgia Pangolin (2026-ongoing)
Solastalgia Pangolin is a sculpture, a cabin, and a field hospital for the mind on the front lines of climate crisis. It is conceived as a vessel for living and thinking in a changing nature: a structure intended to endure beyond the short-term project economy that so often mirrors and accelerates the very ecological conditions it seeks to address. Solastalgia Pangolin is the work of Signe Johannessen and Erik Rören. It is a simple hut intended to outlive us all. Designed to be transportable, it will continue its journey wherever it is invited next. It carries within a library created by CAPIm researcher Axel Andersson that is to act as a pharmacy of the mind. In 2025 Solastalgia Pangolin was shown and activated as a work in progress in connection with the conference of the European Society for Environmental History in Uppsala. In May 2026, now fully operational, CAPIm residents moved into the work in a first instantiation of what will be its future life, gathering experiences och reflecting over the knowledge generated in and by the vessel.
